Stage I Fire Restrictions Rescinded 10-6-2015

RESOLUTION 2015-22

 

A GRANITE COUNTY RESOLUTION RESCINDING COUNTY RESOLUTION 2015-19 THAT ESTABLISHED STAGE I FIRE RESTRICTIONS FOR ALL PRIVATE LAND IN GRANITE COUNTY UNDER COUNTY JURISDICTION; AND

STAGE I FIRE RESTRICTIONS ARE FULLY RESCINDED

 

                        WHEREAS, western Montana, including Granite County, Montana, experienced extreme fire danger during the late summer of 2015; and,

                        WHEREAS, Granite County had previously, in September 2015, by County Resolution 2015-19, downgraded to and re-established Stage I fire restrictions in Granite County which restricted certain burning for designated high fire hazard areas on all private land within Granite County that are not under the jurisdiction of a municipality or a state or federal agency; and,

                        WHEREAS, the current weather is cooling down significantly, and Stage I restrictions are now not needed.  

                        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Granite County Commissioners fully rescinds State I fire restrictions for all private lands within Granite County, Montana that are not under the jurisdiction of a municipality or state or federal agency; and,

                        BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED that generally applicable laws pertaining to open burning still apply; and,

                        BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that notice of this Resolution shall be reasonably and promptly provided to local news media outlets as customary; and,

                        BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be effective immediately.

 

                        ADOPTED AND PASSED this 6th day of October, 2015 A.D.
